What is a spiritual practice?

Recently, our Buenos Aires community has been seeking to more deeply understand what we mean by spirituality and its expression in our daily lives. (See Walter Forcatto’s blog post from July 17.) Often our understanding of spiritual practices is limited to those disciplines of silence, solitude, prayer, and meditation. But spirituality and spiritual practices are so much more! Our community often utilizes the resources, reflections, and liturgies on Christine’s Sine’s blog, GodSpace. Her summer blog series “What is a Spiritual Practice?” helps us imagine the breadth of spiritual practices that connect us more deeply to God and his purposes. A few in particular caught our attention.
