Born in Caracas, Venezuela, AnaYelsi came to the U.S as a child and spent most of her life as an East coast girl. Along with her love for the New York Yankees, a good slice of pizza, and soulful music she has a heart that beats with a fervent desire to pursue justice. Her work with Methodist college ministries afforded missional opportunities to travel to Ghana, Haiti, Jamaica, Mozambique, and Costa Rica. These trips cultivated an already passionate heart and helped to confirm a calling to be a prophetic voice to the church.
As a graduate of The DART Organizer's Institute, AnaYelsi is uniquely skilled at addressing many areas of non-profit work. After working in the field as a DART Community Organizer she joined Florida Abolitionist, a faith-based anti-human trafficking agency as the Lead Organizer and Program Coordinator. During her time with FA, AnaYelsi designed BRANDED: a peer-on-peer education program, which uses the arts to educate teens about the issue of human trafficking.
As the Director of the Advocacy department, AnaYelsi will be working to strengthen WMF’s continually-growing relationship with the public; locally and nationally. Through online and print publications, public speaking engagements, innovative local programs, and The Beggar’s Society, she hopes to build a lasting connection between WMF and its supporters.
