Esperanza was born in a large family and is thankful for the Christian faith of her parents. She studied in a Christian school where her father worked; the special thing about this school is that it was a welfare school. This was something that impacted her life as she could see since she was very little the benefit that it brought to her life, her family’s life and the life of the other children that studied with her. In her heart God put the desire to help other people in need; as other people had done for her.
When she finished high school, she found a fun way to share her faith while she continued with her studies. She joined a mime troupe. That was the way she first made contact with the WMF Peru community, she was invited to a Christmas celebration to perform. Being there and surrounded by many people, she saw a light of hope in them, as at that time she was feeling sad, and she knew that God brought her there to see her pain reflected in their necessity, the necessity of Him; so she decided to get more involved.
The community has helped her to grow in many different ways while she helped as a volunteer, now as she becomes part of the staff she is confident that the growth will continue. Her heart gets excited when she reads Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” He has prepared them already; she just want to put them in practice.
Nací en una familia numerosa y afortunadamente de padres cristianos; además de esto estudié en un colegio cristiano, donde mi papá trabajaba, lo especial de este colegio es que fue un colegio de ayuda social. Esto fue algo que impactó mi vida, ya que desde muy pequeña pude ver el beneficio que esto trajo a mi vida, a la vida de mi familia y a la vida de muchos otros niños que estudiaron conmigo. En mi corazón Dios puso el deseo de ayudar a otras personas en necesidad, así como otros lo hicieron conmigo. Al terminar el colegio en medio de mis estudios encontré una forma divertida de compartir mi fe con otros, el mimo. Fue así como tuve contacto con la comunidad, porque fui invitada a una celebración de navidad para hacer mimo. Estando allí rodeada por tantos chicos, vi una luz de esperanza en ellos - ya que en esos momentos no me sentía muy bien- y supe que Dios me había llevado allí para ver mi pena reflejada en su necesidad, necesidad de Él; es así como decidí involucrarme más. La comunidad me ha ayudado a crecer en muchas formas mientras he podido apoyar como voluntaria y ahora que paso a ser parte del equipo de trabajo, nuestro crecimiento será aún más. Mi corazón se emociona cuando leo efesios 2:10 “Porque somos hechura de Dios, creados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, las cuales Dios dispuso de antemano a fin de que las pongamos en práctica.” Él ya las tiene, así que estoy ansiosa por ponerlas en práctica.
