Liz was raised in Horton, Michigan with Hannah, Lydia, and Keith by parents who made faith the central value for their family. She knew Jesus from an early age, but it wasn't until high school and college that she started to talk to Him personally, as a friend. Liz's home and church community welcomed many missionaries and she felt burdened to share the good news of Jesus with the world.
Before beginning her undergrad degree at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Liz taught Five Day Clubs with Child Evangelism Fellowship throughout Michigan. She had a life-changing experience of Jesus speaking the words of John 4:35 aloud to her, calling her to service. After reading The Cry for 9 years, Liz traveled to South Asia on a Servant Team in 2005. During a silent moment in Kathmandu Liz again heard Jesus clearly speak, calling her into a life of intentional community celebrated among the poor.
Liz returned to Aquinas and completed her degree in Sustainable ('Green') Business and International Studies in 2007. She lived, worked, and prayed in West Michigan for a year before heading out to Middle America where she currently lives in a house that has green astro turf on the front porch.
Liz is super excited and humbled to be serving the Word Made Flesh community and Jesus' beloved people through prayer and administration as the Director of Administration.
