I’m pretty sure that this week I met the woman who prayed me into the ministry. Actually I think she probably prayed me into meeting Jesus.

As Victoria and I walked and talked one afternoon, she shared with me of the early days of the WMF children’s home in Chennai which she and her husband faithfully run. She told me that they began to pray for Romania and Peru and that one day WMF would be serving children in those places as well. As I listened, I realized that she told me that she began to pray for those countries around 1995 and I began to sense that this woman even when I was in fourth grade was praying me into ministry. It was after fifth grade that I first met Jesus, when I first fell in love with him and decided to commit my life to doing whatever he wanted me to. I have thought about that conversation with Victoria so many times since that day last week and everytime I get goosebumps. It was a few years after they started to pray that WMF Peru and WMF Romania began. I couldn’t help but wonder which countries she is praying for now, because I’m sure in another year or two a new field will be started. That’s the power of Victoria’s prayers.
