Give

The ministry of Word Made Flesh is dependent upon the prayers and financial gifts of churches and individuals. We are funded by thousands of small gifts that come together to do something beautiful for God. The gifts made to Word Made Flesh are given with great sacrifice by ordinary people who want to be a part of bringing God’s love and justice into the world.

All gifts made to Word Made Flesh are tax deductible. Thank you for considering partnering with us financially!

  1. Our Principles of Fundraising

    • 1. Word Made Flesh rejects traditional and aggressive fund-raising techniques that often dehumanize potential donors. We refuse to objectify you by seeing you only for what you can give. Rather, we desire to humanize each of you as friends and partners in mission.
    • 2. We commit to deeply valuing each “friend of WMF” whether you are a donor or not. We invite you to take ownership in what we are about in the world because we believe that God is at work.
    • 3. We commit to growing in our relationship with those who support our community. By “supporters,” we mean those who are on this journey with us. Support can come through financial gifts, prayers and even solidarity with our cause. We will not position ourselves in such a way that a gift or funding creates leverage that humiliates, rather than humanizes, one another. We want to receive gifts that renew and embolden and inspire, because that’s how God intends our giving to be.
    • 4. We believe in WMF and what we’re doing and will freely ask for your participation in God’s work among the poor. We will not feel guilty about making the ministry’s needs known, because we believe we are simply doing God’s will in response to His call. Likewise, we don’t want your giving to be guilt-induced. Giving should be joyous. As we fulfill God’s call together with you, both the giving and receiving should be a guilt-free transaction.
    • 5. As we freely ask when there is need, we also commit to not ask unless we have a real need.
    • 6. We won’t send excessively long letters or fill your mailbox with appeal after appeal.
    • 7. We commit to financial integrity and will use your gifts for their designated purpose.
    • 8. We embrace gratitude as our posture and celebrate it. In gratitude, we will handle every gift you send with humility and integrity. We do this recognizing that every gift creates an opportunity for a grateful exchange with the giver.

  2. Give by Credit Card

    • Click the Donate link anywhere on the site to make a one-time or recurring monthly gift to Word Made Flesh via credit card. Word Made Flesh uses an online giving service called Groundspring.org that is powered by Network for Good.
    • Giving online in this way is safe, secure and easy, and all gifts are tax-deductible.
    • Instructions: Please use the “Designation” line to write the project, country or staff name for which you want the gift to be used. If you have no preference, you may leave it blank and we’ll use the money where it’s needed most. If you would like to designate the gift to more than one person or project, you may indicate that in the “Designation” line as well, (e.g. India $50, Nepal $50).
    • Receipts: Receipts for gifts made by online gift will be sent to you via e-mail from Groundspring.org, not Word Made Flesh.
    • Customer service: Because we partner with Groundspring.org to receive online donations we are unable to access any of your personal account information such as password, credit card number, or amount. Please contact Network for Good customer service with account questions or changes. They are very friendly and helpful!

  4. Give by Automated Donation

    • You can set up monthly automated donations from your checking account. It’s easy and our preferred method of giving because there are no processing fees when you give in this way. That means that more of your money goes directly to the people who need it most.

  5. The Justice Fund

    • In times of crisis, Word Made Flesh helps by opening the Justice Fund to connect donors with trusted partner organizations on the ground in the area of need.
    • In light of the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti January 12, 2010, WMF will accept gifts through February 28, 2010, that will go toward immediate relief in Haiti via organizations we know and trust. To give, go here and designate your gift “The Justice Fund.”
    • Please remember our brothers and sisters in this very difficult time and pray for them.
    • WMF and its Board of Directors honors the intention of every gift. However, as per regulations in the Internal Revenue Code for non-profit organizations, WMF cannot permit the receipting of charitable, tax-deductible gifts that are restricted by the donor for a specific purpose. If a donor gives to WMF, in compliance with Internal Revenue Service regulations, the donor releases all dominion and control of the donation.
