Job Title: Staff Accountant
Days/hours per week: M- F; 9 am -5 pm
Employment Start Date: March 1, 2010
Word Made Flesh (WMF) is seeking a full-time staff person for the role of Staff Accountant. This position is a minimum three year term and is located at WMF’s administrative headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.
WMF is an international Christian organization that serves among some of the most vulnerable people in urban areas of the majority world.
This role combines accounts payable, receivable and reporting functions in a 40 hour/week position. The staff person will work with donations, bills, monthly payroll, staff reimbursements, bank and credit card reconciliations, fund balances, and creating reports. The staff person will also work with WMF staff and donors in answering queries about donations, fund balances, and transactions.
As part of a community of people called to simplicity and service among the most vulnerable of the world’s poor, each member of our office community has committed to raising 100% of their needs-based salary. The first year of this position will be paid by Word Made Flesh to allow the staff member time to raise their support. During and after the first year this staff person will be expected to raise their salary by gathering donors and sponsors to support their needs.
Qualifications: . A professing Christian who embodies a commitment to the values of WMF (WMF lifestyle celebrations as stated at http://www.wordmadeflesh.org/organization/about/) and is willing to enter into community life with the members of WMF. Time-efficient, self–aware person who works well in a team. Should be a responsible, detailed worker and willing to serve under the direction of the Director of Administration. Experience with Quickbooks strongly preferred, proficiency with Excel, & PC platforms will be required.
